INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN SYSTEM (IDS)

"IDS is the systematic instructional design capability within ELTA that transforms performance and learning requirements into intentional, measurable, and continuously improving learning experiences."
Instructional Design Is More Than Course Design. It's a System.

IDS - Instructional Design System

IDS

The Instructional Design System (IDS) is the systematic instructional design capability embedded within the EMH Learning Transformation Architecture™ (ELTA®). IDS provides the design discipline, processes, and practices necessary to translate organizational needs, performance requirements, and learning goals into purposeful, measurable learning experiences.

Rather than treating instructional design as an isolated step in course development, IDS integrates instructional design throughout the learning transformation lifecycle—from discovery and strategic planning through design, development, deployment, evaluation, and continuous improvement.

Within ELTA®, IDS works across the architecture's specialized frameworks, including SLPDF™, LEBF™, LPM™, LDE™, AI-LIF™, and PIF™, ensuring that learning solutions remain instructionally sound, strategically aligned, technologically appropriate, and focused on measurable performance outcomes.

IDS connects:
Organizational Need → Performance Requirement → Learning Requirement → Instructional Design → Learning Experience → Development → Deployment → Evaluation → Improvement

This systematic approach enables EMH Learning & Technology Solutions, LLC to move beyond simply creating courses or training materials. IDS provides the instructional design foundation for creating learning solutions that are intentional, evidence-informed, learner-centered, and aligned with organizational and mission outcomes.
